1,000 Year Old CHINESE STRENGTH Method
When I was in college my younger brother and I would use
Napster (remember that!?) to download mp3 files for free
on the internet.
But instead of downloading Eminem and Backstreet Boy
songs, we were downloading “talks” given by Eastern
philosophy expert Alan Watts.
Since then my brother has been heavily involved in many
forms of the the martial arts and Eastern medicine.
Yesterday he sent me a book on a little know form of Internal
Martial arts called Liuhebafa.
Internal Martial artists focus their attention on building up
the nervous system and a form of bio-energy they call Qi.
It is said that, “all internal strength comes out, but not all outer
strength comes in.” — So the idea of building the internal
strength through these methods is believed to build up all of
your strength, inside and out.
Anyway, this book contains 134 “character secrets”. These
secrets are very short in content, but very deep in meaning.
We are to read and meditate on only one Secret at a time. You
may take a full day to contemplate the Secret or even take a
full week to experience it fully!
Here is the first one that I studied all of yesterday…
“Intent is the basis of Methodlessness.”
In this philosophy Methodlessness is a state of “doing without
doing.” Basically letting nature dictate your choices instead of
forcing them.
Also Intent is thought of as the creative mind or wisdom.
So in layman’s terms this secret means…
Drop all of your preconceptions and focus only on your
wisdom of the moment, and in that awareness you will make
the right choice… a choice without the use of a method.
This immediately reminding of my strength training.
I have been training since I was five years old. Strength building
has basically become a part of my DNA.
So, with all of the wisdom that has come from my years of training
it simply requires me to “feel” in the moment what may be the
best type of workout to do.
There is no method, only intention.
Now this would obviously NOT work for everyone… especially
if you haven’t been training for over 25 years and earn a living by
teaching others how to train like I do.
That is why I am considered and expert in the ART and SCIENCE
of Strength.
My workouts are not best for everyone at all times… but when I
design them for myself they are infused with the energy of the first
“character secret” of Liuhebafa.
“Intent is the basis of Methodlessness.”
If you have ever wondered what kind of workouts Elliott does, or
if you’ve wanted to come train with me in Florida, but you live
too far away….
Every single workout that I create from “intention” goes up on this
website for all of our members to see, use and grow with.

I think you’ll learn a lot by simply seeing exactly what I do, how
I do it and when.
Enjoy

I love it. Ever since reading the Celestine Prophecy years ago I’ve worked hard to learn how to follow my nose. This doesn’t necessarily mean the path of least resistance. Instead, it means the path closest to your heart.
I followed that path and found that i was more passionate about the ‘other’ aspects of training. This led me to develop a killer collaborative website and start coaching trainers on the softer side of training that’s often forgotten. If I didn’t learn how to follow my intuition then I never would have realized my love for adapting the physiology of skill acquisition and developing teaching models from it.
In terms of workouts as well this rings true. I go through phases where I approach my training the same way. In short, if business is busy I train depending on how I feel as you outlined above. If business is at a slower time of the year I will prepare a more regimented routine because I have both the time and energy to stick to it.
Thanks for the article.

Funny. I feel like I have endless free time now that my book is at the editors. It’s amazing what one can condition themselves to doing. I’ll be in more contact soon. Thanks for the reply.
