Why I LOVE Failure!
It’s a sad state of affairs when parents, teachers and the
government work to help others avert failure.
Many loving parents weaken their children’s bodies and
ego by “helping” them walk at a young age instead of
letting them experience the failure of falling.
Many schools have come to adopt a “no child left behind”
attitude where children are never given a failing grade…
even though their performance is well below average.
The US “nanny” government has instituted, and continues
to create, so many “bail out” programs that failure in
business (especially BIG businesses) and life has become
almost impossible!
In fact I think Obama has just created a brand new “bail
out” plan for people who can’t pay the mortgage on homes
they couldn’t afford in the first place.
What all of these well meaning meddlers do not
understand is that FAILURE is the foundation for all worthy
success.
When you FAIL it actually means that you are trying… you
are making an honest effort to achieve something that is
important to you.
By averting or avoiding failure you will NEVER experience
the challenges that make you stronger, nor will you ever
truly appreciate any success that has been handed to you.
This is why I love FAILURE… and why I use the gym
as a metaphor for life.
Another man who understands, practices and teaches solid
methods for building real life strength in the strength training
environment, is professional strongman and combat trainer
Mike Gillette.
If you believe, as I do, that men do not grow mentally,
emotionally or physically unless tested to his limits… then a
program like Mike’s Savage Strength System may be
something you’d enjoy.

Can’t Hide When You’re THIS Ugly!
It’s amazing how many people think that they can “hide
their ugliness”!
Now, I’m not talking about being born with a face and a
body that doesn’t match with society’s ideas about what
beauty is.
Actually, most mainstream ideas about beauty are totally
dysfunctional and disturbing.
I’m talking about the ugliness that is painted ALL over a
body that has been poorly maintained for several years.
When we were first born our body, face and skin were quite
pure (unless your mom ate like shit when she was pregnant
with you. This is actually quite common).
But when your parents begin feeding you processed foods
and toxic baby formulas, that your body rejects… you begin
to take the form of someone who is given poor building blocks
for bodily construction.
The crap you’ve eaten during those formative years, slowly
became the building blocks of your nervous system, muscle,
organs and bones.
Quickly you’d begin developing chronic organ, hormonal
and nervous system disorders that lead to muscular skeletal
deformities.
For example, as a kid you unknowingly became intolerant
to dairy, which caused your colon to become inflamed and
an also caused an increase in mucus, making it difficult for
you to breathe.
The gut inflammation has now caused the deep stabilizer
muscles of your core to shut down. Setting a domino effect
of muscle viruses throughout your body, resulting in poor
posture.
The inability to breath because of the excess mucus causes
your head to travel forward and a rounding of your upper
back so as to allow the jaw to hang freely as you “mouth
breathe”.
What a head start!
Now, as you age you continue to make the same dietary and
lifestyle choices that your parents taught you.
* The food you eat is void of nutrients and is toxic, this makes
your body and immune system weak… so you get sick often.
* Your inability to breathe properly decreases the amount of
oxygen needed to supply your skin with vital nourishment
… so your skin is grey or pasty.
* The lack of oxygen to your brain also causes your thinking
to be cloudy and hinders your ability to concentrate.
* Your poor posture leaves you with chronic back pain… so
your body responds to the pain by overproducing corticoid
hormones that leave you stressed out and tired.
*Or you are addicted to pain killers.
HERE IS THE KICKER!
Most people in this situation will never consider that their
pain, dysfunction and sheer ugliness has been a result of
their lifestyle and diet, dating as far back as infancy.
Instead they will spend their lives trying to “hide” this ugliness
with makeup, surgeries or pathological materialism.
That’s a hard pill to swallow.
Look, I understand that lots of people may find my story above
offensive and will probably reject it.
That’s okay with me.
I share these ideas with you because I am “sifting through the
sand” to find the 1% of trainers, coaches and strength geeks who
understand that Strength Is A Holistic Process!
And it is THAT 1% that I am inviting to join my advanced course

Later today or this weekend I will have all of the details ready to
invite that 1% to become Strengthology Certified.

The King Of Disobedience
Human history begins with man’s act of disobedience which is at the very same time the beginning of his freedom and development of his reason. ~Erich Fromm

Benjamin, my son is only 17 months old.
It was only about 6 months ago that he began the rebellious act of swatting my hand when I approached his mouth with a spoon full of food he did not want.
If I dodge his swipe and find a way to sneak the spoon into his mouth, he spits a mouthful of half chewed food on the floor.
My young son has taken the first step in becoming a man.
He is developing an ego that will allow him to use the most primal and powerful tools of the human character…
The ability to say NO!
To disobey is to understand and exercise your power as a man.
When we are young, we are guided by the subconscious promptings of our physical body… we FEEL that something is wrong, or right, and we act accordingly.
As we grow older, the all-powerful condition of society begins to overpower the natural guiding principles of our subconscious mind and body.
We begin to sacrifice our ability to say NO, for what we are conditioned to believe are the parameters of reality.
Some of these parameters serve us and protect humanity from anarchy, but many of them, perhaps MOST of them, have been created and enforced in order to suppress your creativity and manhood to allow the ruling hands of parents, teachers, government and society to mold you into another common control-bot (or what some call “sheeple”).
Today in the United States we are honoring the Disobedience of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A man who refused to bend his back to the oppressive American establishment.
King was a brilliant and gifted man who graduated from college at the age of 15.
He was in a situation where he could have very easily practiced law and become a very wealthy man. He could have raised his family and enjoyed most of his life with relative comfort while remaining “under the radar” of tyrannical law.

But, just like my son when I force food which he detests down his throat… King choose to exercise his right as a man and spit in the face of injustice.
Through acts of what he called Civil Disobedience, King made his stand in the face of danger and adversity.
He said NO, when his body told him to.
King asserted that the greatest evil is the SILENCE most men hold while experiencing or observing injustice (or anything else they hate).
This silence is often born not out of fear, but apathy and indifference. An erroneous belief that “this is just the way it is”.
I would contend that today, 99% of men today have committed the Suicide of Silence.
My invitation to you on this day, a day remembered for the exercise of disobedience by a man who said “NO”, is to search your heart for all things that it silently yearns for and detests.
Ask your heart, “what is it that you love?” and “what is it that you hate?”
Do not judge or be afraid of your hearts promptings.
Just notice it.
Acknowledge it and respect it.
If you learn to notice your heart, soon you will feed it the things that pleases it.
If you learn to respect your heart, soon you will begin to reject the disgusting things it had been forced to accept.
You WILL see no other choice but to say NO.
And you will become a man.
Some of my favorite speeches by Dr. King:

Psychic Strength Coach Sees Your Dreams
First, you’re in for a super awesome treat!
Earlier I mentioned how The Underground Strength Manual
was one of the first and most important blueprints I invested
in to start my Strength Camp gym.
Since the author of the manual, Zach Even Esh, learned that
I had been sharing his methods with you he decided to put
together something cool for you… you can see it at the link
below:
http://www.hulsestrength.com/recommends/Underground_Strength
Now, yesterday I told you that once my Strength Camp gym
got up and running it quickly gained popularity and glittered
the dreams of other strength coaches, personal trainers and
strength geeks around the world.
They all wanted to know, “Elliott, how can I also create a hard
core gym like Strength Camp in my city?”
Basically they wanted to know how to run a successful strength
training gym with little or no money and business experience.
They also wanted to know how to fulfill every man’s dream of
owing a “man cave” where we can earn a living doing what we
love most.
Al Bundy drank beer and read Big-Un’s magazine… and we like
to lift heavy stuff and make lots of noise
As cool as starting, building and running Strength Camp really
was, the fact is that I had to get good at marketing… REALLY
good.
Especially since I was on a side of town that almost none of my
paying customers would ever go to. (except to train with me!)
The very first key to owning and running Strength Camp was to
understand who my “market” was… basically, who are the people
that I am trying to reach with my message of strength.
In order to teach other coaches how to start and succeed with a
business model like mine, I created a 16 week business course
called The Warehouse Gym Business Plan
In fact, I give you the three very first things you MUST do before
even thinking about opening a warehouse gym, for free, over at the
website below.
http://www.hulsestrength.com/store/start-strength-camp-business/
Once I understood and applied the things you’ll learn at the site above
my gym and online strength businesses began to steamroll!
I not only discovered that I could build a gym and train more clients
with the principles in the course, but that I could also use it to reach
more people online with newsletters like this one.
Tomorrow I’ll tell you a little more about how I turned a dusty, dirty
warehouse on the bad side of town into an underground publishing
company that helps thousands of people get stronger.

How STRENGTH Became My Business
Yesterday I broke the sad news about my being forced to close
my gym Strength Camp. (but don’t worry, good news is on the way!)
I had been training athletes, fitness clients and strength geeks in
my warehouse gym on the bad side of town for almost 5 years
with nothing but good fortune and success.
If you recall, it all started back in 2007 when I decided to quit a
corporate job and begin training athletes in the park out of my
van.
From there I decided to rent out a small garage in South St. Pete.
With no more than $1000 and a mission to help people become
stronger… I had my first gym and was officially open for business
The gym would often be packed with high school athletes, mainly
football players, who loved the fact that they were getting stronger
and bigger using my training system that combines power lifting,
strongman and bodybuilding.
With hard core rap music or heavy metal blasting, me and these
kids attacked the weights like no one in this city has ever seen!
When several parents and local high school and college football
coaches began asking me “exactly what are you doing to get these
kids so strong, so fast?” –
I decided to create a series of DVDs and training manuals for them
to use. I called it Gridiron Strongman, and it is still one of my best
selling systems!
You can see it here: http://www.FootballStrengthProgram.com/
Last month, one of my ex-college football students and now coach
at Strength Camp, and I re-filmed the entire program and are having it
professionally edited.
That edition should be ready by spring, so anyone who has the current
edition of Gridiron Strongman will get a free copy of the 2012 edition.
Plus the price may go up since we’re adding so many new components.
After putting my system for building super strong, massive and
explosive football players online for athletes, coaches and strength geeks
around the world to use…. something funny began to happen.
People started to call and e mail about how I was able to quit my job
and open such a hard core gym with almost no money and no business
experience.
Tomorrow I will tell you all about how I took my dusty, dirty little
warehouse gym and used it as a way to break dozens of other aspiring
coaches free from their day jobs so they could pursue the same dream
that I did.
Also, later this week I will tell you more about what the future of Strength
Camp will look like… it’s so exciting that I’m dying to tell you now

STRENGTH CAMP is dead :(
A few weeks ago I told you the story about how I was
attacked by a pit bull while training at my gym.
That same night I had a dream where a tremendous whirlwind
came passing though. It was so strong that it picked up cars,
trucks & trees and threw them around in the streets.
During the whirlwind I remanded safe by huddling under a
grand piano and holding onto it’s legs for dear life!
I believe that my dream was a message to warn me of the
impending “whirlwind” of events that I was about to experience.
Also, the strength and stability of the piano that I huddled under
for security represented how the firm commitment to my “art of
strength” would prove to be my savior.
Over the next few days I will recount the whirlwind of events that
has forced my to close Strength Camp, my gym for almost 5 years,
last week.

This sounds like it may be bad news… but the truth is that it has
become the best decision I could have ever made. (I’ll tell you why
later this week.)
For those of you who have been following my story from training
people in the park out of my 1988 Ford Van – to – opening Strength
Camp gym – to – today… you may remember some of the following
things.
MEMORY LANE:
This is where the idea for Strength Camp all began:
Zach Even-Esh’s Underground Strength Manual
It’s been almost 5 years since I broke away from the corporate
world and followed my dream of “building stronger boys and men”.
My first step was to get my hands on as many free or home made
training tools and design a system for training my clients with in
this minimalist structure. Zach’s program was my blueprint.
I used this blue print to build a business of training athletes in the
city parks out of the back of my van. We all got VERY strong, built
serious muscle mass and developed a new hardcore outlook on
training, business and life. (Thank you Zach!)
Only a few short years later my minimalist training boot camps
became Strength Camp, my warehouse gym that you’ve all come to
love so much.
Tomorrow I will show you how I used this small garage in the
middle of the WORST part of my city to build a small strength
training empire.
Growing Stronger ONLY Happens Through Pain,
Elliott “The Incredible” Hulse
PS – If you are one of my fellow Strength Geeks, you have strong
love for this type of training…. it not only builds lean, functional
muscle, it also shatters the shell of inhibition and releases the real man
in you!

Punk Kid With ADHD Bench Presses 455 lbs!
Here is a great story that I think you or someone you know may be able to relate to… It’s all about the power of STRENGTH TRAINING and it’s ability to transform a young person’s body, mind and LIFE. Enjoy
I believe so much in the power of physical training that I take my two oldest daughter to a Crossfit Kids gym in our city.
My wife and I are FANATICAL about proper education (and our idea of what that actually means is far different than the mainstream) and invest heavily in their cognitive and creative development, but physical strength development rides shotgun with mental development in our home.
Here are my oldest girls doing stuff that most of the teenagers I’ve trained can not do!

“Muscle Building Crack”
It’s a sick, sad and ugly fact that we have to admit…
Many of us, myself included, are simply addicted to
strength training.
If you’re like me, you first “hit the pipe” when you were
just a teenager.
Then, over time the addiction got worse.
In the beginning you could get a good high from just two
or three workouts a week.
Then you needed to hit the gym at least once a day.
A few months later you found yourself in a high school
gymnasium at 8pm sitting in a circle with ten other adults,
each of you taking turns to stand up and say…
“Hi, my name is Elliott… and I’m addicted to training.”
Hahaha! Sure, its funny… sounds like a joke for now.
But when you realize that yourself or your clients are
physiologically overloaded from too much training
coupled with other lifestyle stresses, it gets ugly!
Amongst other weird and depressing stuff you or your
clients will begin to experience a severe drop in anabolic
hormones.
And we all know how devastating that could be on your
strength gains, energy and sex drive!
That is why I teach all of my STRENGTHOLOGY students
to assess their client’s Physiological Load before designing
high intensity training programs.
In Module #2 I teach my students what the most common
forms of physiological load are, and how to discover the level
of load you or your clients are holding, with a comprehensive
questionnaire.
Its with this and dozens of other tools that STRENGTHOLOGY
Students and Coaches set out to support themselves and clients
in becoming the Strongest Version Of Themselves.
We go far deeper than just “what exercises are best for firmer
thighs”…
We assess and design programs that reach into the core of who
our clients are and the absolute best way to make them stronger!
For the next four days only I will be taking new students into our
program.
You can register here:
http://growstrongerproductions.com/spd/superior-program
After asking for some feedback from my current students I was
shocked to hear things like:
“Its def. the most in depth and actually useable info I’ve invested
in period. Tons of info and the best educational product I’ve been
a part of to this day…” – Lou Torres
What do YOU want and what are YOU willing to do?

PAIN & SORROW, I thank you!
When I dropped out of grad school back in 2001, I had
gone through a bout of confusion and depression as I
tried to discover my place in the world.
In that time of pain and sorrow I began studying the works
of a man named Abdul Baha. His words literally changed
my mind and behavior towards all of life.
On of my favorite quotes of his is, “Be generous in
prosperity and thankful in adversity.”
In a day and culture where the pervading narcissistic
character of most people centers all of its attention on
ego gratification as opposed to values and character
development…
Many people ask me “why would I be thankful in adversity?”
Well, the very same reason why we lift heavier and
heavier weights in order to teach our muscle and nerves
to get stronger, our character is challenged and strengthened
by adversity.
So, as I am grateful for the challenges of strength training,
I am just as grateful for the challenges in life.
To get stronger you MUST be tested.
And you’ll always get the tests that YOU personally need
most to strengthen your weaknesses.
Also, you will never be offered a test that The Creator feels
you can not pass.
The “Great Coach” knows just how strong you can become,
and will give you the most challenging tests that he knows will
build you up.
Here is a video that I created several months ago for a friend
who was going though tough times.
The quote in the video is also from Abdul Baha. If you like
it please share it with others who may need a boost.
Today, while you are stuffing your face with pumpkin pie and
apple cider… just remember that “Strength is often sprouted
in the soil of pain!”
(You can tag me with that quote on Facebook!)
Thank you PAIN & SORROW,
Elliott “The Incredible” Hulse

Pizza Is A Vegetable, And I’m A Jerk Off!
If you haven’t heard yet, the brilliant and talented
US Congress has officially proclaimed that pizza
is a vegetable!
My first reaction to this news was quite apathetic…
I feel that if you believe anything that comes from
the same people who promised “Change”, only to
create more wars, give more bailouts and infringe
on more of our civil liberties…
Then by all means, eat your freaking veggies!
(Just don’t bitch, moan, or demand free health care
when you get parasites, and stomach diseases that
causes your a** to leak bile every time you sneeze.)
– RANT OVER –
Honestly though, in this day and culture it is almost
impossible to know what is true from what is total
BS!
We’ve got 64 year old women walking around with
boobs firmer and more perky than most 19 year old
cheerleaders.
We’ve got law makers telling us that fluoride, which
is known to be a neurotoxin that destroys learning and
memory, is healthy and should be put in our drinking
water.
We’ve got counterfeit-muscle pretty boys dying to
build more muscle but afraid to get stronger.
And EVERYONE is a winner!
I don’t know about you, but none of this stuff makes
any sense to me.
Call me “old school” — but this is why I always stick to
basics.
Like building a solid foundation of tendon strength
and a powerful nervous system BEFORE adding soft,
flat, empty looking muscle to my body.
Calling muscle that has no strength, a real muscle… is
like calling pizza a vegetable!
Another “old school” strength-guy who hates flat, empty
muscle is Mike Gillette “The Savage Strongman.
He’s written an interesting manifesto on the idea of
building the kind of strength that bends steel!
He calls it Savage Strength, and hes got a few tips on
how to build it over on this website for you.
I have nothing against looking good, in fact I like to flex
my guns in the bathroom mirror once in a while too
But I have a problem with people who try to get something
for nothing…
And trying to build an attractive body that lacks strength is
just that!
Here is Mike’s manifesto:
