Speed & Agility Training for Football and Fitness

Perhaps the one area where you can be the most creative with increasing athleticsm in your athletes and for good fitness fun is….

Agility Training

You may disagree with me on this, but I feel that the best way to motivate your athletes and to keep them interested in training is to hold competitions and play games often.

Watch as I train these high school and college football players using a common childhood game.

I loaded the Gridiron Strongman System book with over 20 different games and competitions to get you super fast and jacked!

St Petersburg Personal Trainer – Sand Bag Races

Training at Strength Camp is always FUN and GAMES!!!

Sure, the athletes and fitness members that deposit their blood, sweat and tears on the rubber mats work hard… VERY hard.

But, a top priority in all of the programs that I design it that they create energy and enthusiasm.

Of Course my obsessive yelling, laughing and encouraging words help a little too.

Enjoy this fun video of Strength Camp members kicking ass with Sand Bag Races!!

Hey, if you don’t live in St. Pete and can’t make it to my gym (I feel sorry for you;))… don’t worry!!!  You can still get super fit and strong following the super FUN and EFFECTIVE training programs in The Real Man Muscle Building Course – check it out ==> http://www.Real-Man-Muscle.com

How bad do you REALLY want it?

On practically a daily basis I get phone calls and emails from men and athletes who claim that they’d like to:

1. Lose fat and build lean muscle

2. Gain size and strength for football

3. Get faster and more explosive

4. Regain their cardiovascular strength and stamina

5. And the list goes on….

But the truth is that most of these guys are just dreamers, they want things to get better but are not willing to get UNCOMFORTABLE to make it happen.

Results are reserved for people who are willing to move out of the comfort zone and challenge themselves.

These guys are far and few between, but the do exist.  Maybe you are one of them!

We’ll one thing is for sure, the guys who attend my 6 am fitness camps are THE REAL DEAL.  Some of them even travel as far as 45 minutes each way to attend Strength Camp.

Now that’s dedication!  – Check a few of these heroes out below!

I understand that if you don’t live in St. Pete and still want to get in shape like we do… that’s why I recommend The Real Man Muscle Building Plan. Its jammed with fast and hard workouts that get real results.

What are your sports and fitness goals?  AND what are you going to do TODAY that will move you closer to it?

I wanna know, post your answers below!!

Here’s what you were missing…

If you think that you need a fancy gym with tons of expensive equipment to get Super Strong and Fast for Football – you haven’t been paying attention!

You see, I train football players in my warehouse gym with nothing more than a few barbells and some homemade equipment.

Below you will find a video of Hunter Thomason – a Sophomore at St. Petersburg High. Hunter came to Strength Camp in March of this year. He weighed about 195 lbs. and could barely do a single chin up. Today, 5 months later Hunter weighs 234 lbs. (thats almost 40 lbs !!!!) and is getting ready to kick ass this season.

We followed the exact system outlined in my Football Strength System to get this kid BIGGER, FASTER & STRONGER. – All we had was a plan, a few tools and a shit load of ATTITUDE!

Check him out:

Prowler Pushing: Conditioning Exercise

Getting in “playing shape” has never been more fun! Known for it’s notorious reputation of making it’s participants puke, The Prowler has an incredible capacity to improve cardio-pulmonary endurance. This is one of the best conditioning exercises for athletes who participate in “short-interval” sports such as baseball and football. I also include this exercise in the conditioning sessions for my Men’s Fitness Boot Camp members.

Tip: Not only will The Prowler Push get you into great shape, it is an incredible exercise for the quads. Because the recruitment of the quads play such an important role in “Change of Direction” sports such as football, lacrosse and tennis we can safely say that The Prowler will make your faster and quicker too!

Sledge Hammer swings – Ab Exercise

Main Muscle Worked: Torso
Other Muscles Worked: Fullbody
Equipment: SledgeHammer
Mechanics Type: Compound

The sledgehammer has been a conditioning tool amongst fighters since the inception of combat sports. It is certainly not a new tool in the arsenal of combat athletes. It is however an inexpensive and excellent conditioning device. Unfortunately, the reemergence of sledgehammer training in the modern era has caused some confusion regarding this simple, yet effective training tool. This article will clarify the confusion, while also offering some brief workouts that will spice up your conditioning routine.

For starters, swinging a sledgehammer offers numerous benefits. A condensed list includes:

* Improve work capacity
* Develop core strength
* Enhance grip and forearm strength

I highly recommend the sledgehammer for all combat athletes. As a young fighter, I regularly used both an ax and sledgehammer and can testify firsthand to the results. Sledgehammer training will undoubtedly improve your ability to maintain explosive power, round after round.

Keg Carrying: Strongman Exercises

I love this strongman exercise for a number of reasons. First, keg carries train the upper back and hamstrings like nothing else. It’s a truly functional exercise, not the “ball and band” BS that you find in those crossover physical therapy clinics falsely titled “Sports Performance Centers”.

Next, this is anaerobic, cardio-pulminary conditioning at it’s finest. Leave the stationary bike, treadmills and those endless miles at the track for bony “tri-athletes” and “Biggest Loser” contestants. My athletes prepare for football, baseball and wrestling with this exercise. My Men’s Fitness Boot Camp guys melt pound of nasty fat with this exercise also.

Tips: You can make your own kegs with great ease. Obtaining them is tough, but once you have a few… fill them up with water, sand or lead buck shots. Seal them with pipe covers, and there you go! I’ve got a bunch of pics from my keg filling session, I’ll write a report soon and post it for ya.
