WARNING – Cereal Scam!
Below is a short but heated e mail I got this morning from Mike Geary about the LIES that we are told about so-called “health foods” in the supermarket. I think Mike is spot-on, in fact I posted the image below on my Facebook profile 3 weeks ago with the comment, “Why Most Kids Are Sick, Sad, Fat And Stupid.”
By the way, Mike is a Certified Nutrition Specialist and Co-Author of The Fat Burning Kitchen. and The Truth About Abs.

I was walking through the grocery store the other day, and as I strolled through the cereal isle, I noticed a couple different boxes of “sugar cereals” that had claims on them about being healthy for kids.
This is quite shocking and I’m not even sure how this is legal!
One example of these ludicrous (in one newsletter last year I misspelled this word as “ludacris” and got all sorts of comments about rappers…too funny!) — anyway, one of these ludicrous cereal boxes claimed this on it’s label:
“Improves your kids immune system”
I won’t mention the exact brand and type, but this was one of those sugar cereals with about 8 different bright artificial colors. The main ingredient was SUGAR! and then refined corn or wheat, which is no better for you than sugar.
How can it be legal for these slimy cereal companies to make health claims about it being “good for kids immune system”?!? This is insane.
Are they trying to say that a product that is 70% refined sugar and artificial colors, with some added hydrogenated oils is good for kids immune systems!
There appears to be a loophole in that if they simply add some antioxidant vitamins such as vitamin C and E to the sugar cereal, they can somehow claim that it is “good for kids immune systems”.
I don’t know how they get away with it, but it seems sleezy to me.
As a subsriber to my newsletter, I know you’d never fall for label claims that are this blatantly deceiving.
However, I’m willing to bet that the label claims on many foods cause you confusion about what’s really healthy and what’s not… types of foods that have been more cleverly marketed as health foods over the years like “whole grain” bread, skim milk, soy foods, low-cal frozen dinners, and others.
Don’t fall for it!
If you missed it yesterday, you’ve got to grab a copy of my new program called: The Fat Burning Kitchen (half price

Walking down the cereal isle in the local supermarket I see about 2 dozen versions of Corn Flakes. There’s corn flakes, corn flakes with sugar, corn flakes with fruit, corn flakes with processed bran,Corn flakes and rice bubbles, corn flakes and spam, spam egg sausage and spam, spam spam spam corn flakes and spam…..
There really is NOTHING to have for breakfast that isn’t corn flakes in some form or other!
I stick to my Wheat Bix, rolled oats and unprocessed bran. Getting a bit boring though. Where is the cereal creativity?!
Are people that stupid that they beLIEve corn flakes with rice bubbles, coated with sugar and a little artificially colored dried fruit is a health food?

i’ve been saying how bad “cereal” is for you, to people for years, especially dieters (women who think everymorning has to start out with special k or corn flakes) and almost everyone looks at me like i’ve got 2 heads and 3 eyes.
my kids often ask, ” but i thought you had to tell the truth in advertising”, i confess i don’t have a good answer for them.

The sad part is , you have these massively attractive packaging and brightly colored boxes which are positioned right where the kids can see them..to top it you have kids who resist eating right …the parents probably feel..if it wasn’t really healthy would they say so ? And since our kids don’t mind eating this stuff and they say it’s healthy lets give it to them….and the more kids eat this sugary shit the more they feel like eating and it’s a vicious cycle all right.

I haven’t eaten a single grain or grain product in over a year and I feel much better for it. With all the problems grains, gluten, and the anti-nutrients and toxins involved cause us I don’t think anyone else should either.
@Leith, “I stick to my Wheat Bix, rolled oats and unprocessed bran.”
Not a very healthy choice.

@ Alan “Not a very healthy choice.”
Works for me, so much so I am actually on the Truth About Abs testimonial page.
There is nothing wrong without gluten, I am vegetarian and gluten is a major source of protein for me. I eat pure gluten! (15gms protein per 20gms) I have gained an extra 10kgs of muscle since my last photo on TAA. I am aiming for at least 90kgs ripped by next Xmas. Last photo was 75kgs ripped.
Gluten intolerance is caused by a digestive disease. It is not the gluten itself, but the disease that causes the problem. My partner WAS gluten intolerant but we have cured it through natural means and she now eats as much gluten as I do without problems.
Peanuts kill people too, should you stop eating them?

You know, they’re trying to make it illegal for fast food companies to give toys in their kids meals. They outta make it a crime to give toys in nasty cereal boxes as well… Im just sayin’

If God made it, it’s good for you.
If we made it, chances are it’s been processed to Hell and back, therefore….well you know the rest.
Stop selling processed and refined ‘foods’!

When I go to the store, I completely ignore the cereal isle. Sometimes I will go down the isle and pick up a box of some newer cereal and read the label, just to get a good laugh! But it always makes me angry when I see the junk in the box. One of these days, the companies might wake up and do something right. But I don’t think it will happen in my life-time
