Strength Camp Business & Marketing
On your end of the computer screen it may seem as if I have a clue about business and marketing. The truth is that I have NO IDEA what I am doing…
I started Strength Camp with a van full of trash, and $10,000 in credit card debt.
I break almost every business and marketing rule. My “books” are a mess.
If you are one of my valued customers or clients, you’ve come to realize that I answer the phone (my cell phone), I answer your emails AND I make LOTS of mistakes. (but I always aim to fix em’ quick)
BUT, there are 2 things that I have that keep Strength Camp alive and growing (even in THIS economy)…. check it out.
PS – TRAINERS & COACHES… keep an eye on your inbox for the next few weeks as I am putting together a pretty cool package for you that will show you EXACTLY how to get rocking with your own Strength Camp and survive in this economy.

Elliot nails something here that applies to any business of any size. He’s talking about being the best at your core business. Do you need to have basic business mechanics like accounting, marketing, promotion, etc? Hell yes. But if the core product sucks, nothing can save you.
Elliot’s success is due to his core product being so awesome, that it compensates for his claim to being miserable at marketing. (Perhaps there’s actually some sheer marketing genius right here!)
Side note: This is when businesses make decisions about when/what to outsource. There’s often an ROI in letting the experts do what they are best at. Your clients outsource their health to you, their trainer. That’s because you have an absolute AND competitive advantage in that field. Accountants, lawyers, marketers earn a living by being good at what THEY do. The lesson? Have the BALLS to keep your EYE on the prize, the core of what makes you great.

You rock man- That is what is the most successful people bring to their work- The vision to see things through and the Balls to make things happen.

I couldn’t agree more. If you’ve got those two things, everything else will follow!

Hey Elliot this is probably one of the best videos of yours that I have ever seen.
Simple but so true–vision and balls.
I have both– I worked 2 part time jobs to get the money to buy equipment for my gym in my garage and then started my training business– now 5 years later I have the #1 BootCamp in my area, and I am Strength and Conditioning Coach for 3 major sports teams in my city. I just opened a 2200 sq ft facility of my dreams and will be hosting an open house to invite all the other teams in town to train there.
I strive to be the best and I have a vision and I have balls so success is not an option its a reality.
