Thankful for PAIN and SUFFERING (bring it on!)

It may sound strange or overly philosophical to most,
but I am 100% sincere when, on this Thanksgiving
day I say…

I’m most thankful for pain and suffering.

Specifically my own pain and suffering.

You see, most people spend their lives working to
avoid discomfort.

Everything they do is tainted with an attempt to
avoid challenges and failure.

Little do these folks realize that in their attempt to
avert short term pain… they set themselves up for
a life of mediocrity and misery.

Even less do they realize that pain and suffering
is the soil where pleasure and joy are grown.

You know this is true through your experiences in
they gym.

To build muscle, lose weight or get stronger you
are willing to endure tough workouts and strict
diets.

The pain and suffering you experience though
your workouts lends itself to a leaner, stronger
and better looking body.

Well, that same principle of Pain = Gain works
in all areas of your life.

If you want to get better grades in school, you
suffer by studying hard and skipping the late
night parties.

If you want to build a small business, you give
up a regular paycheck and medical benefits.

Just like every daytime is preceded by nighttime,
every pleasure is preceded by pain.

When you can see that pleasure and pain are two
sides of the same coin…

…you will also find yourself strangely grateful for
pain.

Just like I am.

Pain IS pleasure.
